“You’re already married. Why did you seduce Farris?” she asked, her tone harsh and unwelcoming.
Confronted with these startling accusations, Stella was engulfed in a wave of confusion.
The idea of her seducing Farris was utterly absurd.
As Stella held Mina’s gaze, the pieces of the puzzle slowly began to fall into place. She recalled Mina’s attitude around Farris that night, and it suddenly dawned on her.

Farris forced a smile as as he searched for the right words.
“She was speaking out of turn, nothing more. Please, don’t give it another thought. If her words have upset you, I extend my sincerest apologies on her behalf.”
“I’m not upset.” Stella shook her head.
